South Africa's 4B Rand Recovery Fund to help businesses after KZN | Gauteng looting
Minister of Trade, industry and competition Ebrahim Patel has announced a recovery fund for businesses affected by violent looting in July. The R3.9B program is a tiny fraction of the R38B (mostly welfare handouts) the government announced earlier this week.
This paltry pittance will NOT do much to help business recover. The physical damage and destruction from looting and arson is far greater that the insultingly tiny "relief" program Patel has announced.
South Africa's ruling ANC is responsible for this disaster and the billions of Rand private citizens have lost, owing to either its incompetence and tolerance for a culture of impunity nad lawlessness or its complicity in the events that unfolded for nearly two week in KwaZulu-Natal and Gauteng provinces in July 2021.
